Fleurieu Swimming Club 2011

The Fleurieu Swimming Club is a family orientated club based at the Sherriffs Road Swimming Centre in Reynella in the southern suburbs of Adelaide in South Australia.

The aim of the club is to encourage and promote swimmers of all ages to enjoy competitive swimming. We have swimmers in all age groups who compete socially and at high-level competition meets.

Change of Membership Renewal Period

Please read this letter from SwimmingSA advising clubs that as part of a national strategy, all States are moving to an October 1st registration date for all swimming clubs.

At the April meeting of the Management Committee, it was agreed that to work in with these changes of a 5 month membership which will be from 1st May 2012 – 30th September 2012 and then the new annual season membership from the 1st October 2012 – 30th September 2013.

The fee structure is being reviewed to reflect this new membership period. As soon as these have been approved by the Committee we will advise all members of what they will be.

2012 Australian Age Championships

Good luck to the 4 swimmers that will represent the Fleurieu Swimming Club at the Australian Age Championships being held from the 9th-14th April at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre (BAC), Sleeman Sports Complex in Brisbane.

The swimmers competing are Juliet Bociulis, Jake Mounfield, Jakob Schleyer and Adrian Waydock.

The swimmers events are

- 33 - Girl's 17-18 years 100 Backstroke (Tuesday)
- 99 - Girl's 17-18 years 200 Backstroke (Friday)
Jake
- 70 - Boy's 12-13 years 800 Freestyle (Wednesday)
Jakob
- 50 - Boy's 15 years 100 Breaststroke (Wednesday)
Adrian
- 124 - Boy's 17-18 years 200 Butterfly (Saturday)
- 133 - Boy's 17-18 years 100 Freestyle (Saturday)

Worlds Greatest Shave

On 15th March Club Captain Adrian Waydock and Vice-Captain Jakob Schleyer shaved their hair to raise money to support the Leukaemia Foundation's "Worlds Greatest Shave".

Their aim was to raise $1200. As of 15th March, they had raised more than $800, with many cash donations being made at the event which increases the total amount raised.
