2009/2010 Junior Excellence Awards & Youth Performance Squad

Congratulations Fleurieu Recipients
The Australian Junior Excellence Program (JX), recognises rewards and encourages junior swimmers who, through their development of aquatic skills and fitness, achieve a high standard of swimming excellence.
Under the program, swimmers aged from 9 to 13 years, who accomplish times set by Swimming Australia, qualify at Gold, Silver, Bronze or Green standard, depending on their best performance/s during the season.
For 2009/2010 the Fleurieu Swimming Club has 27 recipients - 7 Gold, 9 Silver, 4 Bronze and 7 Green.

The Australian Youth Performance Squad (YPS) is an exciting new initiative designed to reward swimmers aged 13-18 for their performances in the pool. The YPS is an extension of the Junior Excellence program which recognises and rewards 9-13 year olds. Similar to Junior Excellence, YPS rewards swimmers for achieving particular time standards set by Swimming Australia.
For 2009/2010 the Fleurieu Swimming Club has 7 recipients - 1 Silver, 4 Bronze and 2 Blue.

Dive'n'Dash - April 17
8th April 2010
The Fleurieu Swimming Club is pleased to present a "Dive'n'Dash" on Saturday 17th April 2010, at the Sherriffs Road Swimming Centre, 117 Sherriffs Road, Reynella. It commences with a warm-up at 5:30pm, with competition starting at 6:00pm.
The meet is open to all swimmers of any ability 13 years and under, with events focussing on sprints of shorter distances in all strokes to cater for younger swimmers.
You do not need to be a member of a swimming club to enter, nor will there be any pressure to join.
Entry to the Dive'n'Dash is $2 per swimmer.

2010 Australian Age Championships
2nd April 2010
Congratulations to the swimmers who our Club at the Australian Age Championships at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre from the 5th-10th April.
The swimmers were
- Brandon Lambert -100 Back, 200 Back
- Emily Leadbeater - 200 Fly
- Jake McKenzie - 400 Free, 1500 Free
- Emily Rowe - 200 Breast
- Adrian Waydock - 200 Fly
Special congratulations to Adrian Waydock and Emily Rowe for the excellent PBs that they swam in these championships. Adrian lowered his PB by 1.21 seconds to 2:16.24, and Emily set a new PB of 2:48.51, a substantial 2.65 seconds off her previous best.
Well done to you all!
SAPSASA - State Primary School Swimming Championships

To all our swimmers who competed so well at the recent State Primary School Swimming Championships. You all put in a fatastic effort with plenty of great results. Special mention to the swimmers who won medals on the day:

STATE SCHOOLS RECORD
Well done to Micaela Habib who broke the State School record in the 50m Backstroke at this event. Fantastic result Micaela.
STATE TEAM SELECTION
Congratulations to Taylah Eastwood, Jack Eastwood, Dylan Manual & Jake Mounfield who have been selected in the State Schools Swimming Team. These swimmers will now compete at the Australian School Sport Swimming Championships in Brisbane from 5th to 11th June this year.
(Unfortunately Micaela and Amy were too old!!! for selection)
Also best of luck to Amy Bagley who has been selected in the South Australian Christian Schools Association team to compete on Brisbane from 19yh May
